Red Tour
Cappadocia
The tour starts with a visit to the World Heritage Listed Goreme Open Air Museum and its rock-cut Byzantine Orthodox Churches. We continue on to Uçhisar. After lunch we visit Avanos, overlooking the Red River, the longest river in Turkey. Clay from the slit of the red river is used to produce the pottery for which Avanos is world-famous. You will have the opportunity to watch the potters at work using techniques that have not changed in generations. The tour also visits Paşabağ which has some of the most eye-catching rock formations in Cappadocia. Next up is a visit to Rose Valley where you will have a chance to look at its amazing rock formations, hidden cave dwellings and rock-cut churches with stunning Byzantine murals. We then move onto Devrent Valley where the landscape resembles that of a lunar landscape.
